According to the principal and method of supervisal, system operating condition simulation and matching network automatically in power system, this paper investigated the application of SCADA system in urban water supply, water consumption forecasting and simulation of water distribution system(founding model) etc. It attempted to optimize the investigation of water consumption forecasting and system simulation in water distribution system, using the advanced technology and management experience of power distribution system for reference. Firstly, introducing the basic principle, characteristic and main function of SCADA system. Analysis the application of SCADA system in power system and water supply system. Discussing the configuration, use and development of SCADA system through the application of SCADA system in urban water supply to a real project. Secondly, improving load forecast in water supply system, using power system for reference. The principle of extension short-time load forecast was put forward ,that is forecasting unknown load point by adding information of new load point to the point, the load was known. Thirdly, assessing and analysis a network, of which resource supply and pipe resistance coefficient was known, by comparing simulation method of power system with water supply system, using the principal and model of power system state estimated for reference, proving that the water supply system state estimated model in this paper has a rapid convergence and stable solution.
