Steam turbine thermal performance test is one of the most important parts to evaluate the economic performance of a power plant unit. Since the structures of the steam turbine is complex and variational, the procedure of steam turbine thermal performance test is also much complex. Steam turbine thermal performance test consists of data collection and performance calculation, and the two procedures must be dealt with under a standard rule. The rule ANSI/ ASME PTC6 is the most accurate and popular used rule for steam turbine thermal performance test.It is difficult to use a standard calculation method to analyze the economic performance of different steam turbine thermal system, so the process of a steam turbine thermal performance test is too long, and many peoples are needed. In this paper, based on the basic theory of steam turbine thermal performance test, the universal calculation software was built. The follow works were completed in this paper:1)The configuration software for steam turbine thermal performance test was completed. By this software, the calculation procedure of steam turbine thermal performance test can be gotten by the configuration.2)The software for characters calculation of warder and steam was completed. Based on the IAPWS-IF97 equations, a new calculation program of the character of water and steam was complete for the steam turbine thermal performance test. This program can be also used in other fields.3)The interface between the data collection system and the performance calculation program was completed. The data can be readied from the data collection system by the interface software, and it can reduce the manual workloads.4)In order to test the software, a few tests were adopted. The steam turbine thermal performance test software was used in a 125MW power plant unit and a 300MW power plant unit for analyze the performance of steam turbine thermal system.5)The results of the test, especially the applications in the steam performance tests of two power plant units, show that the steam turbine thermal performance test software is correct and usable. It can be easily used in different steam turbine system, by the visual configuration, the input and output management.
