In this paper, a method for the on-line monitoring of fouling and slagging on utilityboiler heating surfaces is improved, and the basic principle of which is stated. On thebasis of the method, a suit of on-line monitoring system of fouling and slagging isdeveloped to guide and optimize the process of sootblowing according to the studyobject, the 600MW generating unit in Qinbei Power Plant. When choosing themonitoring parameter, we gave up the traditional thermal effective coefficient and dirtycoefficient of dust, and chose the dirty parameter of dust, which is relatively easy tomonitor. By applying the improved RPROP neural network instead of BP neural network,using the data from the DAS of the plant, we can train the neural network to predict theparameters we need in different cases. At last, we can acquire the dirty parameter of dustthrough definition. Based on the theory, without increasing or only increasing a fewextra points, we developed the computer monitoring system of heating surface on foulingand slagging of coal-fired boiler, offering strong guarantee for security and economicaloperation of the unit.
