A fault diagnosis system for the regional power grid is developed in this paper.Making use of the data of dual data source which comes from the SCADA system andthe fault information system, the system uses the reasoning method of delaminationdiagnosis and cause-and-effect logic to diagnose the fault.The method of expert system is adopted by the fault diagnosis system. TheObject-Oriented knowledge representation is used to represent all kinds of faultinformation and related relations of different equipments in the grid, and the productionrules to represent the diagnostic rules and grid structure is also used by the system.Matching the fault changed information of the protections and the breakers which comesfrom dual data source to the main station, the system reasons by combining with thethought of delamination diagnosis and the relationship of cause-and-effect logic amongthe protections, the breakers and the fault equipments. At last the fault equipments areconformed, and the fault report is shown. This system has already been applied to theregional power Grid of Lanzhou, and its practicability and veracity has been proved bythe result of local running.
