The large-framed machine foundation is commonly used in supporting the steam turbine-generator set in power stations and the dynamic characteristics of the foundation is the key factor of the whole foundation design. The capacity of the T-G unit is more and more large, and the dynamic characteristics of the foundation is more important. It is always a major concern for the design and research of T-G foundations to approach to the target of T-G unit set in good operation. The vibration modal experiment was developed for the first 1000MW turbine-generator set foundation. A 1/10 scale framed foundation model was built in the experiment. The experimental modal analysis was adopted to test and acquire the dynamic characteristics of the foundation model. The experiment is performed by the exciter. A series of parameters with the foundation modal such as natural vibration frequency, mode shape and damping ratio have been acquired. On the basis of these data, the amplitude of vibration was predicted by the modal analysis software. The results are pleased. At the same time, the predictive results from two different method and the results of TGFP 4.0 were compared. The comparison indicated the latter is usually larger than the former. The dynamic characteristics of the framed foundation was also computed and analyzed in this thesis. To the limitations of the design code and the program TGFP 4.0, the foreign program for structural design GTSTRUDL 27 and finite element program SAP2000 V9.0.4 were adopted to compute the dynamic characteristics of the foundation and the dynamic response to the exciting load. After the comparing to the results of TGFP 4.0, some valuable conclusions were acquired to instruct the design of the foundation. The rotor-foundation-ground interaction was preliminarily analyzed in this thesis, and the whole dynamic model was built by the modal synthesis method. Meanwhile, the spring elements were introduced to represent the effects of the foundation-ground interaction, a series of calculation were performed by the GTSTRUDL 27.With the application of the isolation technology is more and more widespread, and the characteristics of the framed foundation for the turbine-generator set, a compact analysis was performed in this thesis.
