China is a country with a vast territory, a great amout of population and the distributing of resource out of proportion. It's important to the development of economic to develop transportation. For the virtue of high speediness, great capacity, energy source saved, security and little contamination, the transportation of railway will play a more and more important role in the future. It's the seedtime of the economic development of China, the speed and quantity of transportation is requested. And the boiled competition with the development of road, water carriage and airlift, to win the competition the transportation of railway should be speeder and heavy burden. For this request, it is the strategic goal to research on new generation locomotive braking system, which based on computer control.With multi-locomotive, it will improve the performance of traction and cut down the employee without change anything of the locomotive. It will improve the benefit and the ability of competition of the company by this way. In recent years, an amount of fixed multi-locomotive was used not only electric locomotive but also internal-combustion engine locomotive, just like SS3B, SS4GAI, and DF11G etc. On this condition, brake laboratory of Southwest Jiaotong University research on and exploit new generation locomotive braking system based on computer control, which adopt computer controlled automatic air brake and realize electrically and pneumatically blended braking. Base on this new generation locomotive braking system, research on multi-locomotive brake system and the interface between TCN and braking system of locomotive will be continued, finally new generation locomotive braking system of multi-locomotive in TCN will be realized.The form and configuration of locomotive braking system of multi-locomotive existed previously was introduced, new generation locomotive braking system was integrated into TCN, the configuration and function of Microcomputer Brake Control Unit (MBCU) was analyzed in detail, in this article, the new generation locomotive braking system of multi-locomotive based on CAN bus was researched on and exploited with the characteristic and requirement of the new generation locomotive braking system itself. CAN bus is fit for communication of new generation locomotive braking system of multi-locomotive for its virtue like simpleconfiguration, good characteristic of real time, many type of error check measure and low rate of error in communication as well. The highly integrated TMS320LF2407A chip produced by TI Corporation included inside CAN module, RS-232 module, SPI module etc. was used as CPU to meet the requirement of the communication of the system.The principal and process of new generation locomotive braking system of multi-locomotive was analyzed, the interface of TCN was taken into account, and the software of the system was designed. At last, the experimentation proved that the system can work harmony, and the requirement of the system was satisfied.In this article, through the research and experiment on the new generation locomotive braking system of multi-locomotive based on CAN bus, the experience of the new generation locomotive braking system of multi-locomotive in TCN was accumulated and the foundation of designing and development of new generation locomotive brake of multi-locomotive of our country was set up.
