| Traffic control system which is one of the key subsystem of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) is important to solve the urban traffic congestion problem and improve the environment of people's trip. Therefore, how to design and improve the existing traffic control system is the important research content. Traffic control system separates and organises the traffic flow in time and traffic flow guidance system, which is another key subsystem of ITS, separates the traffic in space. Integration of traffic control system and traffic flow guidance system or other subsystem of ITS is a current research hotspot. The integrated traffic management system organises traffic flow in time and space simultaneously, thus the limited road network capacity can be utilized sufficiently.The paper was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China"The study on synergetics theory and control method of urban traffic flow system". The paper studied the angent-based traffic control system, put forward the agent-based traffic control system framework and the agent's calculation model, analyzed the integration of traffic control system and road pricing technique, dynamic information collection system, built the integrated model of traffic control and traffic flow guidance, simulated the integration effect based on Cellular Automata.The paper involves six chapters:Chapter One: Introduction. It summarized the development process of urban traffic control technology and put forward the future direction of traffic control: Intelligence and Integration. Lastly, it introduced the organization of the paper.Chapte Two: Multiagnet-based Traffic Control Structure. It analyzed the advantage and disadvantage of existing traffic control method, the feasibility of using multi-agent in traffic control, and put forward the method of controlling traffic signal with learning.
