Forklift is one kind of construction vehicle, which can be used in the factory, harboror building site. With the development of the national economy, both of the quantityrequirement of the forklift and the performance requirement increases rapidly, and theforklift of extension arm mentioned in this essay is the advance product of forklift.This forklift of extension arm is a kind of loader introduced the characteristic ofExcavator in the foundation of forklift, which leads to the good cross-countryperformance to adapt any type of roads (especially for bad road surface). Moreover italso has certain lifting capacity. The forklift of extension arm is one type of liftingcapacity transport machinery, it has a four-wheel drive wheeled chassis similar toExcavator and a flexible contraction arm that can freely upward and extend. Thisforklift is mainly used in the station, or work site, the harbor, the large-scale farm andthe factory, it can be used to load and unload goods from the packing cargo, and alsofor the transportation;its work installment is fast removable, according to the jobrequirement, it may collocate other attaches. This forklift produced by theMANITOU company has introduced the horizontal-cylinder steering system, whichhas totally enlarged the steering angle.As the importance of the stability of the vehicle and the work, this article willconsult the early stability investigation of the forklift and Excavator. Based on theformer research, and importing advanced computer technology, each dangeroussituation of the forklift will be simulated by using modern computer simulationsoftware ADAMS to get a general idea of modern mechanical design.Considering the theory and the simulation, the stability of MLT-940 is studied,this article is divided into five chapters.1. The compendious introduction of the forklift of extension arm is in the exordium,which introduced the development of the forklift of extension arm and thesummary of the research actuality, the inimitable predominance is also analyzed.Although lots of studies have been done, the stability of the extension arm forkliftis still rarely studied. This paper will study the stability of the extension armforklift.2. By referring to the correlative datum, based on the researches of before and thepractice conditions, the stable equations of the forklift have been listed out byimporting the characteristic vector and the azimuth. According to the equations,static stability simulation of the extension arm forklift has been done under thesoftware MATLAB, the maximum steady angle and static stability area has beengotten, also the relationship between maximum steady angle and azimuth can beshown clearly in this plot. Of a certain extent, this simulation may replace theinclination test.3. In the first two parts of this chapter, instant brake stability of the extension armforklift both on flat road and the inclination road has been discussed, later in thischapter, the maximum steady angle of dynamic steering model can be gottenbased on the activity theory.4. Introduced the dynamic simulation software ADMAS, then describe how tomodeling in ADMAS and the whole simulation process. In the following essay,the inclination testing of the vehicle was done. Later the results of the simulationand the calculate results from the theory has been compared together, thepreliminary proof that the simulation process is correct has been gotten, also aseries of data and the curve too, hope to find the modern optimization designmethod. The turning modeling was also mentioned in the essay.In the last part of this article, the research results are summarized and the futuredeveloping trends are also prospected.The basic discussion and research of the forklift's stability was done in this essay,based on the research which has been done by the ancestor, the modern computersimulation technique was imported and the simulation of the object has been done tooin this essay, hope the research which has been done in this article can be used to designthe relative product, such as the expansion and contraction arm forklift etc., especially tooptimize the design parameters for this construction vehicle.
