The research of an electronically controlled high pressure common rail fuel injection system match for a direct injection diesel was performed in this paper. JX493ZQ diesel can meet the requirement for Euro III emissions and using demands by using a high pressure common rail fuel injection system and adjusting parameters of the diesel. The main works include:1) The emissions and performance of original JX493ZQ diesel and the influence of intake swirl, nozzle geometric sizes and parameters of combustion bowl on emissions and performance in this diesel were investigated. The best compression ratio, intake swirl and nozzle geometric sizes were decided by analysis and engine test.2) After deciding the hardware components of the engine (swirl, FIS), the optimization of the ESC cycle in terms of emission and fuel consumption starts. The parameters of fuel injection system including injection pressure and injection time were optimized for the goal of lower emission and fuel consumption at every run conditions. The result of experiments show that the diesel can meet the requirement for Euro III emissions legislation by equipped an electronically controlled high pressure common rail fuel injection system and matched the fuel system and diesel well.
