Water is the source of the lives on the earth, and the material basis of the human being'survival and the social and economic development. Water resources can guarantee the sustainable development of the human being'society. With the development of economy and the improvment of living standard of people, people have higher demand for water quantity and water quality. But fresh water that is able to be used is limited. Additionally the pollution and waste of water resource has sharpened contradiction between water supply and requirement, which becomes one of the key obstacles of social development. So studying on the balance between supply and demand of region water resources has very important theoretical and practical significance to sustain the development of society, economy and environment.After comprehensively reviewing the theory researches and scientific practices at home and abroad on hydrologic model and the balance analysis between supply and demand of water resources etc., the paper, first of all, describes the connotation, character, principle, scientific basis and research method regarding hydrologic model, foresting of social economy and water demand, calculation of available amount of water supply and water demand-supply analysis. In the light of traditional hydrologic theories and existing widely-using methods of the balance between supply and demand of water resources, the coupling models for hydrologic and water resource and it's operation procedures are put forward for the first time, through discussing the characters of runoff generation, the regulation of social and economic development, the trend of water supply increasing, the calculation methods about available water supply, and the principle of the water resource allocation based on harmony analysis of water supply-demand. The paper explains the calculation and forecast methods of living, production and ecological water-demand. According to the current and future condition of water supply and demand, the paper forecasts the water requirement in compulsive water-saving condition. At the same time, it also explains the constraint relationships among runoff, water-demand, water-supply, and the theories about available water supply amount from water supply projects. Because of the close connections between water supply-demand and the results of the balance between supply and demand of region water resources, the paper puts forward the different results of the balance...
