Improving vehicle's safety to decrease the loss caused by traffic accident as much as possible is an import technology problem of the automobile field today, which is in dire need of solution.Considering the reality situation that active safety is still difficult to obviously prevent traffic accidents to occur, this paper innovatively presented a type of vehicle crash energy absorption equipment combines active and passive safety, which using the accident prediction technique of active safety to improve the vehicle passive safety performance. The research and analysis of the whole project of this equipment is made. The energy absorption protective effect of this equipment is proved by simulation. Designed and developed this equipment, and testified its effectiveness by on-board test. The research contents of this paper are mainly including these aspects as below:1. After made research on traffic accident investigate result, innovatively presented a collision accident prediction method on the basis of vehicle acceleration. And testified this method is effective and feasible by Test analysis.2. Researched this equipment's trigger method and energy absorption method. By Adopting spring as trigger method and metal thinned wall cylinder as energy absorption method, this equipment's mechanical structure is designed and developed.3. Using the simulation method coupling of Multi-body and finite element, the simulation model of frontal impact, side impact and car-pedestrian impact of a certain type of vehicle is established by MADYMO software, and the comparative analysis of impacting performance of the vehicle fitting with or without this equipment is made out. The simulation results show that the vehicle fitting with this equipment has better damping and energy absorption performance. Combines with frontal bumper air bag, not only the injury to the occupants and pedestrians in crash accident can be decreased further, but also the damage to the vehicle can be decreased.4. Designed and developed the soft hardware of the control system of moving window algorithm on the basis of vehicle acceleration, and formed an integrated system with the equipment's mechanical structure.5. Testified the validity of this equipment developed in this paper trough on-board test.
