For more than ten years, as an innovated environmental equipment technology, hydronical floor radiant heating and cooling has been rapidly and widely gaining popularity due to their inherent advantages including lower energy costs and superior thermal comfort. In this thesis, the parametric analysis and evaluation are performed to determine the heat transport mechanism, indoor air temperature field, thermal comfort performance of the floor heating and cooling systems by established relevant experimental device. The experimental validation would provide reliable evidence for the application of such techniques in WuHan areas and analyze its potential energy saving capability. Combined with local conditions, the feasible analyses are conducted based on the aspect of optimal system design, operation control, economical technology etc to promote the development of the regional industry. The results show that floor heat transfer is suitable for WuHan areas. The updated natural gas and low quality energy such as solar, recovered energy and geothermal would be utilized effectively in this area to optimal arrangement of regional energy. In particular, floor cooling capacity was limited by its skin temperature so that it can not meet the requirements of the whole cooling load. An auxiliary air-conditioning system may be needed to dry the air and meet the other cooling load or the displacement ventilation load.In the aspects of product development, a new product named radiant floor in conjunction with outdoor air exchange unit design was performed in this research owning its technological advancements on system configurations, control solutions, materials selection and manufacture approaches. Some technical suggestions in actual practice about design methods, system options, optimal control strategies to reduce energy consumption are also proposed in this context.
