Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) is a new kind of building material, its excellent mechanical performance makes it be applied widely and widely in the field of civil engineering. Structures strengthened with Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) are a new structural strengthened method. And it has been found to be economical and efficient to apply nowadays because of its corrosion resistance, low manpower demand for application and minimal changes to geometrical dimensions of the member. This dissertation carried out an experimental research on out-of-plane flexural capacity of brick wall with pilaster reinforced by Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP).Firstly, this dissertation points out that masonry structure is confronted with retrofit status; reviews the traditional strengthened method for masonry structure; summarizes the current study and application development of masonry structure reinforced with FRP at home and abroad. Secondly, this dissertation carries out an experimental research on out-of-plane flexural capacity of brick wall with pilaster reinforced by Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) by two batch specimens (seven brick wall specimens) and carrying out ten times tests. From analyzing the result of experiment to know, it can effectively raise the out-of-plane flexural capacity of brick wall by strengthening with GFRP.This dissertation primarily studies three parameters' effect on the out-of-plane flexural capacity of underreinforced brick wall. These include the...
