With the constant development of wireless technology in recent years, wireless LAN is being used more and more widely in people's daily lives. Thanks to the introduction of Intel "Centrino" technology especially, which greatly accelerated the spread of wireless LAN's speed. In spite of the fact that an embedded network communication technology has already been applied on a large scale in the area of industry, the most widely used technology is still wired communication technology result from the messy present environment. Besides, we merely consider using wireless transmission technology unless the condition of lacking of the wired communication technology. And this state of affairs is concerned with the figures of wireless data communications technology, including the low transmission rates as well as poor security and Antijamming capability. Wireless LAN technology mainly uses Spread Spectrum communications technology, which greatly improves the system antijamming capabilities and data transmission rate, laying a good foundation for its applications in the industrial field. In order to meet the requirement of Wireless network communications technology by the area of industry, there have been quite a number of companies announcing the settling solution. Moreover, they have already achieved excellent result since their being practiced into the market. Nowadays, the most widely used WLAN technology still mainly relies on 802.11x,ZigBee and Bluetooth in area of industry.A set of data collection and transmission system based on WLAN is development. The keystones of this paper are the hardware and software design of the terminal. Hardware of the system mostly includes the DSP core module, A/D conversion module, serial communication module and wireless card module. The choosing of the data acquisition system's core chip are analyzed and compared in this paper. The software includes the main system program, the interrupt service program, the network protocol program and the PCMCIA interface driver program. After analyzing and comparing the assemble language and the C language, the latter was chosen to develop this system.
