Network-based collaborative design (NCD) is a new design pattern. During this process a design team devises a product concurrently and cooperatively, aiming at team work, and aided by a distributive collaborative environment provided by computer communication network. Collaborative design enhances the intercourse and cooperation between enterprise and department, utilizes advantage of group work, improves the efficiency of product development, and enhances the competition ability of enterprise. For this reason, NCD has become a hot spot of researcher and enterprise research.Aiming at the situation and requirements of collaborative design of enterprise, the thesis deals with the theory and practice of key technologies in collaborative design system considering, such as, collaborative work theory, the system architecture, collaborative design working process, cooperative tools integration including NetMeeting. Based on the result of the researches, a collaborative design prototype system is implemented with advanced system development technologies.The main research content are briefly summarized as follows:(1) The state of the art in collaborative design all over the world is analyzed and summarized. The theoretical foundation of CSCW and NCD are analyzed and summarized. The theoretical foundation deal with definitions, characteristics, applications, working pattern, research content and key technologies of CSCW and NCD. Some CSCW conceptual models and theories are presented. CSCW conceptual models and theories provide the theoretical foundation for collaborative design system.(2) The thesis analyzes the function and demand of network-based collaborative design system. The key function modules of system are established on the basis of the function and demand. The system adopted the architecture based on B/S model. Development structure based on J2EE is choiced for the system. The relation and function of the hierarchical structure of system are discussed. Collaborative design working pattern based on task manage is put forward.(3) The thesis research and discuss key technologies of system design and development, such as, systemic safety accessing control, systemic user-privilege manage, collaborative design working process, cooperative tools integration and share programe technology.
