Study On The Construction Of City Characteristic Landscape

With the rapid development of economics, reconstruction and improvement in Chinese cities, it has become an important issue how to redesign and improve the environment and of the city based on the local economics and cultural characteristics to preserve its original features and meet the requirements of the modern city.As the capital city at Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, great amounts of minority people have settled down in Nanning city. The geographical environment, social and culture background, and the residential environment formed by the long-term interaction of the human being activities and the natural environment, present remarkable regional differences and the cultural characteristics. Moreover, Nanning preserves various cultural heritages which serve as an important component of the historical and cultural resources of China. In this thesis, the author firstly elaborates the present situations of the spectacle construction of Chinese cities and the main items to make up the characteristic spectacle of a city. Guided by the theories of city aesthetics, science of residential environment, protection of cultural heritage, ecological design principles, the author puts forward the preponderance of Nanning city in constructing the characteristic spectacle based on the historical changes, natural geographical features and the cultural background of the Zhuang minority people .The author also analyses the problems during the construction of city spectacle of Nanning city such as blind investment, insufficient protection of historical culture , lack of systematic construction and ecological design , etc. The strategic target of landscape construction of Nanning city proposed to be "the green capital city of Zhuang minority southern China". Base on the landscaping horticultural city of Nanning, the related measures are raised such as well-coordinated development of the city, development of the tourism and culture, management of characteristic agriculture, etc.This thesis concludes that to be against the tendency of similarity, the landscape of Nanning should follow the principle of coordination of the natural geography, combine the historical cultural to the modern development so as to create the new and attractive spectacle of Nanning city.
