A Study On Landscape Design Of Recreation Space In Urban Waterfront

At present,recreation activities have become part of our daily life and recreation industries have become more and more important in urban economy. Waterfront renovation movements in the western countries have been flourished for about 50 years. And many waterfronts have changed from industry utilization into recreation and leisure usage.That tells us the waterfront recreation and leisure is welcome all over the world. The landscape design of waterfront recreation space in our country is started not long ago. Due to the time limitation of construction and lacking of scientific orientation, many waterfront development projects destoried the natural waterfront environments and caused wastes. At the same time, they can't meet the demand of the citizens. It's necessary to summarize the past experience and comb the outlines and principles of the landscape design of waterfront recreation space.Based on examples and focused on the relationship between the man-kind and urban waterfornt, staring from urban recreation,this article discussed many aspects that should be paid attention in the spacial landscape design. The emphysis was put on how to harmonize the relationship between spacial elements and human demands. The main body of this article is consisted of 6 parts .Part 1: introduce the research content, methods, background and research framework. Part 2: illustrate the related concepts and the connotations. Part 3: combined with literature data and investigation data and summarized the urban recreation types and rules, analyzing their characteristics and compositions. Part 4: classify the types of the watefront recreation space and diagrammatize the construction process; put up the evaluation system of the design; summarize the corel concept and principles of the constrution; analyze the landscape elements and recreaton equipments in the landscape constrution. Serverl unusual conditions have also been taken into consideration. Part 6: landscape design of East-lake park in Zhuzhou,a design example to testify the principles and conclusions made by the research.
