"Nose-to-Nose" calibration technology is a broadband sampling oscilloscopes calibration method. Compared with traditional calibration method, its excellences are simple equipment, strong adaptability and general calibration. This article starts from introducing the principle of "Nose-to-Nose" calibration technology, and then the performance comparison and the extension "Nose-to-Nose" calibration technology are discussed emphatically. This paper is described in several parts as follows:Firstly, "Nose-to-Nose" calibration technology is simply introduced. At first, the principle of "Nose-to-Nose" calibration technology is introduced. And then the advantages of "Nose-to-Nose" calibration technology are mentioned. At last the "Nose-to-Nose" calibration experiment is introduced.Secondly, the preprocessing algorithms of "Nose-to-Nose" calibration technology are introduced. At first the leaking of the strobe pulse and its removing method are introduced. And then the timing jitter and its compensation method are introduced. At last the reflection and its removing method are introduced.Thirdly, the results of "Nose-to-Nose" calibration technology and Swept-sine method are compared. At first, the algorithms for "Nose-to-Nose" calibration technology acquiring the parameters are introduced, including the algorithms for acquiring the impulse response, the step response, the rise time, the amplitude response and the phase response. And then Swept-sine method is introduced. At last the comparison results are discussed.Finally, the extended"Nose-to-Nose"calibration technology is introduced emphatically. At first, "Nose-to-Nose" calibration technology when bandwidth differences are relatively large is introduced. And then the pulse standard based on"Nose-to-Nose"calibration technology is introduced. Thirdly, the time domain network analyzer based on"Nose-to-Nose"calibration technology is introduced. At last the high-speed pulse resource based on"Nose-to-Nose"calibration technology is introduced.
