The SRC column, which is a new type of member, has been proposed to be applied to T-shaped column frames in this paper. In this kind of frames, SRC special-shaped columns intersect reinforced beams at joints. The joints synthesize advantages both of SRC columns and of special-shaped column. In order to make the joints become a good kind of anti-seismic system, this paper attempts to research it under low cyclic reversed loading. Four specimens have been designed and tested, among which three specimens are frame joints between SRC T-shaped columns which are composed of the same size of tube, H-section steel, longitudinal bars and of different stirrup in joints, and reinforced concrete beams; And the fourth specimen for contrast is a joint between a reinforced T-shaped concrete column and reinforced concrete beam. Based on the experimental results, the mechanical behavior and the failure modes of specimens under low cyclic reversed loading have been depicted. The principal of strength, the stiffness of joints, the ductility and the ability of energy dissipation have been analyzed. For the SRC T-shaped joints, the influences of the steel on the failure modes of specimens, on the shear strength of core area of joints, on the hysteresis hoop, on the ductility and on the energy dissipation have been studied, and compared with the joint between a reinforced T-shaped concrete column and reinforced concrete beam.
