With the development of mould & die industry, the requirements of the quality and shape of products have raised a lot, leading to the broader application of complex modeling products including free surface. To shorten the R&D period of the products and raise the design efficiency, reverse engineering is the common method to design complex models and a sufficient procedure to realize reverse engineering is processing the collection of the three dimensional data of the parts' surface. In reverse design, measuring machine and scanning machine are widely used to process the digital measuring of curve planes, however, owing to the current situation that almost all the three dimensional measuring machine and scanning machine are fixed in laboratories with qualified indoor environment, and strict adjustments are required before using, the mentioned machine have disadvantages like incapability to measure big parts, limit in environmental factors and small in scope of scanning and measuring. Thus this thesis proposes the R&D on the system of flexible three coordinate measuring machine based on robotics.This thesis mainly focus on the system of flexible three coordinate measuring machine based on robotics and relevant theoretical technical basis. Robotics are used as reference with the functions and features of the developed flexible three coordinate measuring machine from foreign countries, and a deep research on the key techniques of flexible three coordinate measuring machine based on robotics has been processed with the design of hardware and software.The main contents of this thesis are as follows,1. The reverse engineering techniques especially the key ones are introduced, with some general views related to the coordinate measuring techniques and current developments both home and abroad, so as to analyze the existed problems in this filed and the keypoints of the thesis—the hardware and software developments of the flexible three coordinate measuring machine based on robotics, furthermore, main contents of this thesis will be raised on this basis.2. Based on robotics theory, the movement gesture model of the bars, joints and gauge head will be the pinpoint of this chapter, and the coordinate shift theory will be analyzed and discussed as well.3. Focusing on the analysis and design of the hardware structure of the flexible three coordinate measuring machine, this chapter mainly set forth the design of key hardware structure, and some detailed analysis will be introduced from the perspectives of mechanical structure and communication system.4. Chapter four mainly processes research on the system software design of the measuring machine, analyzes the key techniques of the system software development, and research on the software platform, system initialization, real-time measuring, data points 3D display and data...
