Followed by the power grid development trends to ultra-high voltage and larger capacity, highter requirement is imposed on relay protection device in terms of fast, sensitive, reliable and selective fault removing. The power system dispatch operator can evaluate the action of relay protection device by analyze the fault information, which is maily come from the fault recorder and relay protection device.But in the operation of power system, the fault recorder and relay protection are provided by the different manufactor. So the mostly of transient data from these devices are in different formats. To solve this limitation, a common format for storing data record in transient process is defined by IEEE in 1991, which is named COMTRADE(Standard Common Format For Transient Data Exchange For Power System). The standard has solved the series problem of data's storing and transimission raised by different transien data in different formats.Then, the author study and develop a new relay protection fault imformation analysis system based on MS.NET under the instruction of professor Lu.
