The frame parts are important components to build the framework of the aircraft, which quality and efficiency of the machining determines the manufacturing time and performance of the whole aircraft. In present more time was spend in designing the fixture when producing the aircraft. So the technology of Computer Aided Fixture Design(CAFD) was studied to meet the requirement of aircraft manufactuing enterprise to enduce the fixture design cost and enhance quality.This paper uses the UG/KF technology to accomplish the Computer AidedFixture Design. And the studying work of this paper is shown as below.(1) On the basis of studying the methods of fixture design based on UG/KF, a fixture design model droven by knowledge is presented to integrate the design knowledge into degital geometry model.(2) The parametric CAD model of fixture parts are built, and a standard part library of fixture is constituted using UG/KF technology.(3) The assembly model of fixture are created in this paper and a typical fixture library is built to aid fixtuer design.(4) The calculating tools of fixture clamping force are supplied to support the clamping parts design. According to the calculating result, the claming parts are assembled to the fixture.The module of fixture design for NC machining of aircraft frame part is developed to build the NC process equipments design system with other module on basis of the above study, which used well in Chengdu Aircraft Industrial (Group) Co. Ltd.
