Multibeam Swath Bathymeter is a seafloor mapping device with high efficient, high accuracy and fine resolution. It plays an important role in ocean development.Multibeam sounding system is used for measuring the bottom of sea geography and diagraph. While working, it is strict with the path of the ship. This doubtlessly requests higher precision of ship sailing and demands to find a kind of very effective method to solve this problem. If ship sailing is based on electronic sea chart, high resolution will be realized. In this paper, the software of shallow water multibeam sounding navigation based on electronic sea chart can improve the precision effectively.Main content of the paper includes: the design and editor of measuring line based on electronic sea chart in surveying area, GPS data gather and navigation function in real time, leading surveying vessel enter homework of examining accurately, storing the measuring path data of surveying vessel in real time, playback functions and simulation function of navigating.On the basis of theoretical research, the software of shallow water multibeam sounding navigation based on electronic sea chart is developed, using MapObjects controlling part on the platform of Visual C++6.0, and it can realize the navigation functions during the topographical measurement of the sea floor.
