This article research goal is using the embedded technology which emerges rapidly, getting united embedded technical and the electronic chart technology characteristic develops embedded electronic chart navigation systems which is based on the embedded operating system (Windows CE) and applies in many kinds of embedded equipment.Embedded electronic chart navigation system, is an integrated information system for nautical charts. In the use of electronic charts, it completes some tasks of driving the ship. Embedded electronic chart navigation system can be completed projections of ship's position, chart display and the automatic alarming of danger. It not only can complete the operations on the traditional paper nautical charts, including the planned route design, distance and position calculation, the projections of position, but also solve new problems, such as ships to avoid reef.Through the use of Mercator Projection Transformation and reading the primary documents (.shp) and index files (.shx), embedded electronic chart navigation system display charts. Through the use of GPS, it can complete the projections of position. Through the use of the database files of Shapefile (.dbf), to complete the design of preventing ships hit reef. Through the use of the knowledge of the map's projection, to complete the planned route of ships' designing.The paper research mainly involves computational method, embedded software development, computer graphics technology in the domain of computer science technologies and electronic chart, GPS localization and guidance.
