The main way of land-using is community construction. People pay more attention to sustainable community mode, alone with the acceleration of our urban development.It is a longtime concept of Neighbourhood Community, in early 1990s, and refresh as a new conception with the vocation of New Urbanism which provide some helpful direction of today's community construction. We partly absorbed the theory which is fit for situation of our country, and try to find out the property way to construct our living district. In the early stage of urban development, there are several modes of living district, every one is a solution to meet the need of living, and also, it provides experience of living district design.Anting New Town (Shanghai) and Janwai SOHO (Beijing) are two examples to meet the higher psychological requirement of live, such as communication, public and open space, after yeas of basic construction. They gain something in common, even though in different place, and provide helpful design mode use for reference which can be seen as a result of effective thinking of Neighbourhood principle and element.As an experience of community construction, there are some disappointments, too. Either of the two living district choose a way of construction to respect the old community or texture of city. They both built in a brand new base, where some old stories still remain in the land. Because of the disappearance of old neighborhoods, they are only segments of ideal living,To avoid this obliquity, it need us pay more attention to community and city texture in existence. Rebuilding in old texture or rushing suburb for giant community is not what we need. The practice of the housing of IBA, provide a revelation of neighborhoods community for today's living district construction. In a foundation of logical thinking of exist function, density, diversity, building feature, street value and public space, we can have a better community which is press close to people.
