Ten-year Tracking Research Framework Of Human Settlement Environment In The Three Gorges Area

Three Gorges project construction involves two submerged cities and eleven block county cities so the relocation tasks are arduous and relocation cycle is very urgent. In the past ten years, the reservoir area has completed relocation work of new cities (towns) and has achieved spectacular success under the circumstances of weak economic basis, bad geographic environment and great ecological environment protection pressure. However, honestly speaking, there exists a few problems needed further improvement in the process of town construction.This thesis, under the instruction of human settlement environment science discipline and on the basis of a great number of field researches, is based on urban planning major, connects sustainable development theory, comprehensively makes use of urban economics, urban sociology, urban ecology, mountainous urban studies and other mountainous related theories and methods, and sums up experiences and inadequateness of urban planning and implementation in the course of reservoir area city relocation, laying the foundation for sustainable development in the reservoir area cities.This thesis is one of the sub-projects of "10-year track of Three Gorges human settlement environment construction".The thesis is divided into six parts:The first part is introduction. This part introduces the subject selection backgrounds, research scope, research methodology and basic theories.The second part is to introduce the process of inundated cities including general profiles of submerged cities, inundated type, relocation models and relocation goals and concludes relocated process of the inundated cities in the reservoir area and its completion situation.The third part introduces an important part of relocated planning and implementation of reservoir area cities-new urban location selection.
