A Study Of Portable Temperature Logger Based USB Interface

Applied to storing and transporting medical materials such as blood products, biological agents and vaccines, cold chain system has made a great progress in recent years. Cold chain system is composed of a series of equipments, relevant operation staffs and procedures for refrigeration and temperature monitoring. Temperature-monitoring equipment has been involved in cold-chain system, but China is in a poor position in this field. In this paper, a novel temperature logger is studied.The temperature logger consists of the hardware part and the software system. The hardware part is a MCU system with temperature measure,memory,communication.As a portable device powered by the battery, compared with ones in existence,the hardware part has behaviors of smaller volume, lower power consumption and no operation by hardware. The interface with computer is USB, which is new standard interface of many good characteristics.And it made the operation of the logger easier.The parameters setting and ultimate data processing of the temperature logger are completed through the application in computer.The parameters of application is written in hardware by USB interface.After the job is finished, the data is read by USB, shown and gathered in figures and tables by the application. The application based on Visual Basic has a friendly user interface and is maneuverable. A model machine with high availability is developed in this paper, which reaches domestic high level.During the process of the logger development, the applications of USB technology and low-power-consumption technology are studied. Applied widely in portable systems, these technologies are attached more importance to the development of medical equipment when medical equipment intends to be miniaturized and portable.
