The traffic safety condition is becoming more and more serious in recent years. If the drivers can be informed before the accidents take place, the safety level will be improved greatly. The vehicle anti-collision warning system is designed to supplement positive safety practices by enhancing the driver's awareness of the area in the path of the vehicle.The paper proposes the mathematical model of longitudinal and lateral safe distance about anti-collision warning system based on analyzing dynamics of automotive and has confirmed the value of some parameters; According to the possibility that the mathematical model realized, the warning system of the automotive anti-collision has be carried on the overall designs. The paper divides the system into the unit subsystem of main management, radar ranging and lateral ranging and multimedia information centre. On the basis of defining every systematic function, the paper has ensured the software and hardware developing platform to meet system needs, and has designed some hardware developing tools for the system requirements and then has solved the key technologic difficulty in the course of design; With the need of the warning system, the paper has designed the software and hardware for the unit subsystem of main management, radar ranging, lateral ranging and multimedia information centre. In the unit subsystem of main management, 16bit MCU of MC9S12DP256 was chosen, which was made by Freescale Inc. In the unit subsystem of lateral ranging, 16bit MCU of MC9S12DP256 was chosen, which was also made by Freescale Inc. The real-time operating system uC/OS-II was adopted on the software to ensure real-time character of the task. Meanwhile the paper compiles more efficient code by made use of many tasks mechanism of uC/OS-II .The paper selects LPC2292 (ARM core) as MCU of the unit subsystem of multimedia information centers.
