The traffic safety condition is becoming more and more serious in recent years. Todaytraffic accidents have become a social problem in the moden society and the advanced safetytechnologies are payed attention more and more. If the drivers can be informed before theaccidents take place, the safety level will be improved greatly. The vehicle anti-collisionwarning system is designed to supplement positive safety practices by enhancing the driver'sawareness of the area in the path of the vehicle.The design of the paper is the vehicle anti-collision warning system studied based onimage recognition. First of all is to recognition the vehicle on the freeway by the Video Image,when the vehicle has been confirmed, the system is to Ranging and warning. Using the EDAtopics and DSP technology, the issues found a new method for the target travelconditionrecognition and determination. ARM Embedded technology is used to complete the controlflow of the data processing, the data computing,discriminant early warning. It is a highlyautomating system to automatic real-time processing of a moving car. It regularly and rapidlysamplies the datas of the external components, including speed, distance, state etc., by thecomputer processing, identification and assessment, to determine the state of own vehiclesafety, timely to remind drivers taking the dynamic environment conditions. And distancesignal and warning information for the driver to adjust the own vehicle speed and distance totarget, so that his car has always kept a safe distance from the soal.The core processors of the system selected 32 AT91RM9200 microcontroller from thecompany ATMEL, to ensure the System work on the real-time. Video image processingsystem uses a DSP processor core for the hardware structure, the speed and goodcomputational performance of DSP is particularly suited to image processing, DSP willenable the processing of digital signal rapidly. It uses CPLD to logic control the informationsampling system, complete the source data reading and caching to SRAM, help processors tofast process the digital signal acquisited. Laser Ranging radar is for vertical ranging. Thesystem is composed by four parts, which are the control unit subsystems,laser ranging system,picture signal gathering subsystem and the acousto-optics warning subsystem; Based on thedefinition of the functions of these systems,it determines the hardware and software platformsto achieve the required functions of the system, designs the hardware development tools forthe system designing, solves the key technologies of the system development; According tothe system realization, each subsystem has been carded on soft, the hardware designed.The research of anti-collision warning system lives up to the development direction ofthe intelligent vehicle technology, the application of this system can guarantee vehicles safety, so it will help to increase transport efficiency and have a good prospect of application andeconomy.
