This text analyses and solves the traffic safety problem of the road in terms of design of the traffic sign of the road, discuss and improve the roadside safety of the highway , reducing the severity of traffic accident through it change the structure of the sign pillar, the theory value with importance and realistic meaning.This text is on the basis of analyzing domestic and international research results at first, studying the function mechanism of breakaway traffic sign and using the location of this type traffic sign. Have analyzed the influence factor of the design of breakaway traffic sign, has proposed the structure request of this type sign. Contrast breakaway traffic sign to our traffic sign at present. Considering the composing type of traffic flow, the wind load, material, referenced the structure design method existing sign of our country, propose the design theory of breakaway traffic sign.Then utilizing in the face of configuration analysis breakaway traffic sign pillar, use static's method at first, calculate the stress of breakaway traffic sign component.
