Study On The Hydraulic Characteristics Of Low Practical Weirs

In many years, the scholars in various countries always pay more attentions to the hydraulic characteristics and hydraulic design of practical weirs, which are high weirs mostly. In the actual projects, the low weirs are applied widely, especially in medium and small projects. It is necessary theoretically to make an overall and systematic study on the hydraulic characteristics and design methods of low weirs. That is an urgent need for project practices, too.In the paper, the author makes a study and probing on the hydraulic characteristics of low weirs. In view of the main problems of hydraulic characteristics of low weirs, the experimental analysis and theoretical inquiry are made. Hosts of research works are done in the guiding ideology and technical innovation of hydraulic characteristics study of low weirs, plan and design of hydraulic characteristics study of low weirs, effective factors of discharge coefficient in low weirs, hydraulic design methods in low weirs, pressure analysis in weir surface, and also overflow capacity calculation and submergence factor calculation in practical weirs. In the paper, on the basis of the status quo and development and tendency of design and experiment and hydraulic characteristics analysis in practical low weirs, through the way of field investigation and theoretical analysis with practice, it makes a systematic analysis on the hydraulic characteristics of practical low weirs, discusses the rule and aim of practical low weirs in the hydraulic projects, and also discussed the research significance and methods and contents of hydraulic characteristics in practical low weirs. In view of the present applying situation of existing low weirs in Shandong Province to meet the concrete needs of modern hydraulic projects, the author sums up the design methods and characteristics analysis ways of practical low weirs under different conditions, analyzes the pressure in weir surface and overflow capacity and submergence factor in practical low weirs, makes a study on the measures for improving hydraulic characteristics of low weirs, puts forward the design principles of low weir design, and also puts forward the relevant concrete design method and suggestion based on the relevant demands of standards and regulations and applied conditions and applied requirement and applied characteristics and existing problems of projects.
