Electric Vehicle (EV), as a green vehicle, is seriously concerned by the governments of many countries. Energy storage technology is the weak part of the development of Electric Vehicles (EV). Super capacitor, which possesses the features of high specific power, fast charge and discharge rate and long cycle life and so on, is becoming to be one important field of the EV in recent years. The inconsistency of the series super-capacitor stacks is the main factor that restrains super-capacitors to be vastly used. Equalization management for series super-capacitor stacks, which is aiming at increasing its service efficiency of energy and prolonging its service life, has a very significant meaning.The measure and equalization system is used as an equalization control system for series-connected super-capacitors. It is composed of two parts: Equalization module, measure and control module. According to the equalization techniques introduced first, the thesis chooses the bidirectional buck-boost converter as the main equalization circuit, with the introduction of equalization strategy followed. Then the measure and control module is designed based on the need of the equalization module. This module is made up of the parameter acquisition circuits, the PWM signal output circuits, man-machine interface circuits and the communication circuits. Through multi-point dynamic scanning and detecting, the system is able to detect the terminal voltages, equalization currents and temperatures of the super-capacitors. And the detect data could be displayed by the display circuit. Besides, the PWM signal is put out depending on an enacted equalization strategy to drive the equalization module to work. As a result, the inconsistency among the super-capacitors is greatly alleviated. The communication part is composed of CAN bus communication and RS485 communication. The state of the super-capacitors stacks is reported to the VMU through the communication circuits instantly and exactly so that the VMU could manage the super-capacitors stacks correctly.Finally, the experiment data are analyzed in this thesis.
