As an emerging energy storage element, Super capacitor has many advantages, such as fast charging, much more charge and discharge cycles, high energy density. Since the rated voltage of the super capacitor is relatively low, it work in series to satisfy inevitably peripheral circuit to voltage requirements when used. As the super capacitor leakage current, equivalent series resistance and other factors, single super-capacitor voltage is imbalanced in super capacitor energy storage system. Imbalanced voltage will affect the service life of super capacitors and lower energy efficiency of the super capacitor. This article describes the most commonly voltage balanced approach, suggesting that the present advantages and disadvantages of the presence of voltage equalization method. It analyzes three voltage multiplier based on super-capacitor voltage equalization method. The main principle of such a method is that the super capacitor in series energy storage system is considered as a DC source applied to the circuit on the left to obtain AC power converter. The right side of the voltage multiplier circuit then assigns AC source to the super-capacitor to redistribute the voltage of the super capacitor energy storage system. About the three kinds of equalization circuit, it analyzes the flow direction of the circuits firstly. Secondly, obtain DC equalization circuit based on the principle in charging and discharging law of capacitor energy transfer. The dc equalization circuit can react principle of the circuit. In this voltage equalization approach, simple circuit structure, fast equalization, high resolution can be tested by simulation and experiment.
