The super-capacitor is a kind of energy storage element which has great prospects for development. But after some super-capacitors are connected in series-parallel, the voltage of every super-capacitor is not balanced. So it will affect the life of super-capacitors seriously. The paper mainly researches the balance of the voltage of every super-capacitor after they are connected in series-parallel. Firstly, the operation characteristic of super-capacitors is tested by related experiments. Secondly, several voltage balancing methods are analyzed and compared, and the Stabilivolt Method and the Switching Resistance Method are simulated in the Multisim software. Thirdly, based on the Stabilivolt Method and the Switching Resistance Method, a new kind of voltage balancing circuit is designed and realized, which is called Reference Voltage Method. Then a series of related voltage balancing experiments are done by Labview software in the lab, which prove the validity and practicality of the voltage balancing circuits designed. Finally, the Charge Pump Method balancing circuit is realized. Besides, the Charge Pump Method balancing circuit and the Reference Voltage Method balancing circuit are compared in the aspects of hardware structure, voltage balancing occasions and efficiency.
