Base on the destructive test of five T-shaped haydite concrete columns subjected to biaxially eccentric compression , this paper researches the mechanical behavior, failure modes and bearing capacity of the members. The hypothesis of plane cross-section of average strain is examined and general variation rule of bearing capacity of the members is obtained. A computer program of numerical iterative method for the strength analysis of T-shaped lightweight aggregate reinforced concrete columns was specially compiled. With this program, N—M interrelated curves and Mx—My interrelated curves of T-shaped columns can be gained, And the program for designing reinforced concrete columns can be putted forward. The comparison between the calculated results and the experimental results shows that the calculated results agree well with the experimental results. Beside, lightweight aggregate reinforced concrete can meet strength of the structure, and be applicable to the specially shaped column frame structure system.
