The Application Of EMBEDDED GIS In Line_cruising Management System

Embedded GIS software is that the latest GIS develop technology, and a main technological developing direction of GIS too, widely used day by day at home and abroad at present.The purpose of this paper is to explain the usage of Embedded GIS in the Management Information System by develop a Line_cruising management system baseds on Embedded GIS integrated GPS and individual palm computer(PDA). This system is constitute by three parts of the tabletop management, the mobile Line_cruising and the data conversion, has the functions of collection cruising data, data transaction, inquiry, the arrangement and dispatch of cruising task, personnel's management. By used EM GIS, it improves the system's performance and solves the difficulty of vector map operation. It can operate the crusising map on PDA, manage the map's layer, add and edit of line and towel, node the information of cruise. In addion, through comparing position data calculated by GPS signals with the position data stored in database, it can avoid that some checkpoints are missed to be checked, availably guarantee the normal work and the safe production.At first, the purpose analyzes the present research, technique background, characteristics and applications of the embedded GIS. It discusses the technique of integrated EM GIS with PDA and GPS as well as the map and the data under EM GIS environment.
