| With the return of traditional culture, traditional settlements and living environment has become a hot research. Since the beginning of the last century, traditional settlement has new developments with environmental studies, psychology, behavioral science and other disciplines participated in.Architecture is the epitome of economy, culture and social history in a specific period. The economic base determines the superstructure, the mode of production has also promoted changes in the architectural form. Settlement is the characterization of the traditional farming community. In the agriculture civilization and modern industrial civilization intense restructuring, settlement will be changed. The sharp conflicts between economic interests and the value of culture are highlighting the growing levels of planning and decision-making. The reality must be faced on that most of the rural population accounts for 80% of the total population still live in traditional settlements and the question of how to deal with this precious historical and cultural heritage of traditional rural communities, how to protect, regenerate and improve peoples'living standards is a pressing task.In this paper, the settlement named Shanggantang has been chosen as the starting , a rich collection of photos is using by plenty of field trips and mapping to start-depth study on the settlement of shanggantang, the comformation of settlement construction monomer and environmental art from the cultural, natural, historical and geographical factors of Shanggantang. It clarifies the potential relationship between the living environment and peoples'psychology or behavior, and enhances awareness of the relationship between culture and the human's deep understanding, to expand the traditional research areas about settlement.This article tries to explore new ideas for local communities, using emerging theories as architectural culture, the environment behavior, environmental psychology to study the traditional culture and relationship between native tribes and the natural ecology, social ecology, the built environment, to summarize experiences from the construction of native tribes and to attain suggestions for the planning and building of new socialist countryside. It is a sustainable development of rural settlement to grasp the essence of culture and its transformation, to construct deep culture identity and highly supportive of environment by research on the settlement of Shanggantang , as well as a good road for new socialist country. |
