Research On The Element Of Steel Structure Architecture

Steel structure architecture plays an important role in the modern architecture. It has experienced a history of more than 200 years and achieved a very high level both in theory and practice. Based on this foundation, when structure theory gains breakthrough with the help of computer, the image of contemporary steel structure architecture takes on a current of diversity. Design aims at not only the magnificent and the renovation of structure, but also how to combine steel and form, and at the same time, embody the rational form art which string along with the logic of material and structure.This dissertation grasps the essence character of steel structure, industrialization, as breakthrough point, and focuses on its element, looks deep into the renovation of steel structure architecture, and explores the design theory and method of modern steel structure architecture. There are four parts in this dissertation. The first part is conspectus, which including the definition of steel structure architecture and a general background knowledge. The second part concentrates on the structure system, and demonstrates how the complicated system is generated with simple structure unit. The third part focuses on the enclosure of steel structure architecture, discussing the type and the way of its expression. In the last part, the author discusses the connection between the structure and enclosure, and sums up the characteristic and design methods of connection. The whole dissertation contains about 46 thousands words and 185 illustrations.
