Researchers hope to apply a control algorithm which is developed by using design software into practice in a rapid and convenient way when researching in control engineering. Moreover, they hope to revise and apply an algorithm repeated rapidly so that they can apply a best control way in a control application. It is significant to develop a real-time testing platform.dSPACE real-time simulation system is an excellent platform for development and test developed by dSPACE Corporation based on MATLAB/Simulink software. This system can realize a perfect link with MATLAB/Simulink software. dSPACE real-time simulation system owns a hardware system with high speed calculation capacity, furthermore, it includes high speed processor, input/output, convenient code generator/downloading and experiment/debugging software environment. It's so good to verify a control algorithm in a real-time environment.In this dissertation, a testing platform for motor control is researched and developed based on dSPACE real-time simulation system, and experiment with an 8/6 poles Doubly Salient Permanent Magnet (DSPM) Motor is realized. The testing platform includes hardware and software.Firstly, the hardware is developed based on the hardware resource of dSPACE real-time simulation system. It includes interface circuitry, power supply circuitry, current feedback circuitry, rotor position detection circuitry, PWM signal generation circuitry, drive circuity and protection circuity.Secondly, a speed control model for an 8/6 poles DSPM motor is built on the base of MATLAB/Simulink software, and offline simulation is realized for this control model. The control model includes PWM output module, PI control module, motor module, current chopping module, mechanical subsystem module and signal processing module of rotor position. Moreover, RTI model is added in dSPACE software circumstance. This RTI model includes PI control module, on-angle and off-angle control for each phase of motor stator, PWM signal generation, reference current generation, starting control, Bang-Bang control, moreover, visual meters interface is built in controldesk environment.At last debugging and experiment are fulfilled based on controldesk environment for an 8/6 poles DSPM. The experiment testifies that the dSPACE real-time simulation system is convenient and effective to make a control algorithm into practice, this offers a good platform for researching on other motor control systems by using dSPACE real-time simulation system.
