Immersed tunnel has several advantages over bridges such as all-weather capability, longevity of service, low cost of maintenance and not impeding navigation. With the development of the national economy and constructing technology , immersed tunnels will be used as the main means of traversing rivers, bays and seabeds. However, immersed tunnels are generally build in soft soil shallowly and affected greatly by the earthquake. In views of its importance and underwater particularity, the destruction of immersed tunnels will be disastrous. Accordingly, it is necessary to know the status of a immersed tunnel in time. As a bionic intelligent system appeared before recent decades, the structural health monitoring system (SHM) is feasible to monitor large-type civil engineering like tunnels. This system can monitor the damnification of structures instantly , estimate the position and degree of the damnification, forecast the longevity left of the structures and determine the maintenance whether needed or not. SHM must be required in future on many constructions. And the technology of SHM has been one active problem of research in recent years. In this paper taking Guangzhou ZhouTouZui Immersed Tunnel be about to build as a example, the author made a research of static and dynamic analyses by finite element method (FEM). And also, a further research of how to build a health monitoring system adapt to immersed tunnel was made. At last, the system was proved to be available by experimentation with simulating structure damnification and sedimentation.
