| Nowadays, the selection of pump based on the spectrum for hydraulic model of axial flow pump is still a main method of pumping station design. However, there is no such kind of spectrum software with a high value in China. So developing the application software of spectrum for hydraulic model of axial flow pump has a highly practical meaning.The Ministry of Water Resources and the General Administration of Quality Supervise, Inspection and Quarantine started a model pump test in 2004. And the model pumps have covered the general head scope and became a series. The results can provide good materials for the research and development on the application software of spectrum for hydraulic model of axial flow pump.In this paper, the application software of spectrum for the hydraulic model of axial flow pump is developed by Visual C++ and Matlab under Microsoft Windows. Besides, the fitting method of comprehensive characteristic curve and the method and procedure of hydraulic model pump selection have been further studied here. The software has a friendly man-computer interface and a good opening characteristic, which can provide a convenient and comparative platform for the selection of model pump in the design of large or middle scale axial flow pumping station.
