With the development of the strategy of developing the western region and the chunnel of the diversion of electricity from the western to the eastern regions put into operation, the electric industry of Shanxi, Shaanxi, Ningxia and Neimenggu provinces in the northern China developed very quickly. But a lot of water was needed to build the heat power plant. The advantage in there region is there are lots of coal; the disadvantage is there is not enough water. To develop the electric industry with plenty of coal and limited water, new cooling system is needed. Because air cooling system can save a lot of water, and the technology is mature now, so it is widely used in Shanxi and Neimenggu provinces. The operation principle of the air cooling system is to lead the gas from the steam turbine to cooling fin which is 40 meters high, then, cool the gas using air outside the pipe and wind from the cooling fan. Change the gas to water, and now collect the water to condensational water tank. Through there process, make the gas cycle in the pipe and use the water time after time. This technology was called air cooling system. Because the structure of the air cooling system looks like a steel make island, so it also called air cooling island.Today, the FEA method has become perfect with the development of computer technology, computational mathematics, computational mechanics and computing technique. The method was widely used in structure analysis, strength check and structure design. For the purpose to improve design ability for company, in the design process, the product need ceaseless meliorate to achieve best product, this make the FEA method widely used in design process.In this paper, through the FEA model creation and FEA analysis for the pipe system of air cooling island, to find the danger part of the pipe and the reactive force of interface. According to the analysis result, make some optimization design for the pipe system, build the new FEA model according to optimization design and then analysis the new model, design the pipe system base on CAD and CAE closed loop design to achieve the best result. At the same time, it developed a FEA analyse tool for tee, replicate and end shield of pipe system, this make it very convenient to design the same kind of parts in the future.
