The large-diameter cylinder structure is a new developed port and coastal engineering structure, it owed the advantage on silt groundwork that the other structures can't substituted. The large-diameter cylinder structure includes two kinds of structures, the large-diameter cylinder embedded in soil and the large-diameter cylinder structure on bed. For the large-diameter cylinder structure on bed, the design and calculated methods have developed and it has been applied successfully on many engineering projects.Because of the complexity of the interactions between the large-diameter cylinder structure and the soil, there are many problems that can't be solved, the experiences of the design and construction are very lacked internal and abroad. Once the large-diameter cylinder structure destroyed because the large-diameter cylinder structure lost the stabilities, it isn't applied widely until now. In this paper, the research concentrated on the bearing mechanism and internal force of this type.For futher studying the mechanism of embedded large-diameter cylinder structure, large-scale model tests had been done indoors. By the light of the tests'datas, we studied the work state, bearing mechanism and internal force of the large-diameter cylinder, then we acquired the some useful conclusions that are helpful to the work in future.Using ANSYS program, numerical calculation is simulated. Compared the results of numerical calculation with that of model tests, we acquired the conclusions and approved the veracity of the bearing mechanism, and made sure that it was a good way to solve the internal force of the large-diameter cylinder applying the ANSYS.The main contents and results include as following:1. Through the test of the bearing mechanism of the embedded large-diameter cylinder structure, the control value of the displacement of the embedded large-diameter cylinder structure are proposed; via the study of the front and the back earth pressure of the embedded large-diameter cylinder structure, the calculation methods are proposed.2. The distributions of earth pressure produced by the internal fillers of the embedded cylinder structure are discussed, and the calculation methods are proposed.3.
