Large cylinder wharf structure is a new harbour engineering structure which is developed rapidly in China these years.With the developing of the nation's sea transportation,people pay more attention to this kind of structure.As this kind of structure usually takes a complex stress case, especialy the sinked one,the methods which are used to analyse the structure's stress during its working period and breakage period are not developed yet,The principium as the soil and the structure contacts is very complex. As the large cylinder wharf structure is a three-dimensional one,it is much more defferent on structure calculation comparing to the ordinaire gravitational wharf structure which is calculated as a planar problem.Nowadays the mathematics formula can not elucidate the distributing situation of the earth stress during the large cylinder wharf structure's working period and people did a lot of researchs on the large cylinder wharf structure which is bedding one using finite element method,we did not do enough works on researching the planar distributing situation of the earth stress and the distributing three-dimensional situation of the earth stThis paper calculated the earth stress of the large cylinder wharf structure on several working cases using a finite element software(ABAQUS), summarized the distribution rules of vertical earth pressure and horizontal earth pressure on large cylinder wharf structures during various load cases.And in this paper,the author summarized the three-dimensional distribution rules on large cylinder wharf structures by comparing the single cylinder model and the Multi cylinder model.
