This paper analyses the present studies and the methods of variable-speed couplings in domestic and overseas, systemically researches the Parameterization 3D-Design of variable-speed couplings based on Solid Edge, including the basic ideas of design and the methods of secondary development. A software based on the former technology and idea is designed in the enviroment of VB. The virtual assembly and kinematic simulation are realized in the software, the time of product design is reduced with this software, the efficiency and quality of design are advanced in companies, the exploitation cost of new product is reduced. It is beneficial for corporations of manufacture to meet the market needs quickly and it can bring more economic benefit. So it has more application value.
