Based on the development of battery industry at home and broad, the technical condition of producing equipment for Li/MnO2 button cell was discussed systematically. The function demands for production of the button cell were studied, some system solutions were proposed, and a best design project was developed by the optimizing design. The experiment results proved that the project had measured up to the design demandBased on the production craft of Li/MnO2 button cell, the product line system was partitioned to five parts according to the viewpoint of modularization design, and it can run automatically throughout the course of production from parts to product. The human-machine engineering was regarded as the guidelines in designing the product line control system. PLC and industrial grade Human-Machine Interface (HMI) were adopted in constructing the control system, and the PLC was the core control part of the system. The HMI and the flexible design of software platform satisfied the demands of human-machine conversation technical system. At the same time, the function of automatic malfunction diagnosing was developed in this system. An optimized warning system was formed combining with the double warning information from the buzzer and the touch-sensitive screen. The system will shut down automatically in case of emergency.Because this product line was a complex system with multi-input and multi-output signal, the modern reliability theory was adopted to evaluate the Li/MnO2 button cell product line's basic reliability and mission reliability. Basic and mission reliability analysis is based on the reliability model. In the computation of basic and mission reliability model, the relativity among the subsystems was considered. The values of upper limit and lower limit of reliability parameters, such as system reliability, system invalidation rate and first average fault free time, were worked out. In order to ensure the reliability of product line, a plan of examining and repairing was established. It can be a valued method or theoretical guidance for production and device management.
