| It is proved that the efficient transportation system is the key to a successful Olympic Games. And the transportation system should be well organized. The efficient organization is the base of the successful Games.Transportation demand forecasting is the guarantee of the success of the Games. It is necessary to make layout planing for the temporary transportation infrastructures around the venues. This paper precedes the transportation demand and analyzes the temporary infrastructures layout and the traffic organization to balance the transportation demand and supply around the venues.This paper is based on the 'Olympic Games Transportation Demand Forecasting and Transportation Infrastructures Plan & Traffic Organization', carried by Beijing Transportation Research Center. It makes a profound research on the layout of the temporary Transportation infrastructures and the traffic organization around the venues. The main subjects are summarized as follows.Chapter one is exordium. First, it introduces the research background, the purpose and the importance, the former research at home and abroad, and then introduces the research method.Chapter two is traffic investigation. Road, bus, parking infrastructures and subway are investigated. It pays special emphasis on the rate of bus and railway. Meanwhile, the analogy method is used to investigate the proportion of every transportation mode during other games and in-and-off rules of the spectators.Chapter three is the transportation demand forecasting of the venues. First, it introduces the basic data and assumptions for the forecast and sets up relevant model to forecast the number of spectators in one game, the average number of spectators in all venues, and so on.Chapter four is transportation infrastructures layout plan around the venue. It analyzes the transportation supply and demand, finds the disadvantages and plans the infrastructures layout according to the forecasting and the investigation. It mainly plans the bus terminal on special Olympic lines. The location of the terminal is chosen according to the 'village in town' project. The bus terminal square calculation method is concluded based on the analysis of the usual bus station method and the features of the special Olympic lines. And with the many modes, the paper introduces the taxi stopping and bicycle stopping, and so on. In chapter five, the paper introduces the organizing rules of traffic around the venues and organizes the mobile, bicycle and passengers' transportation. A couple of transportation route alternatives of the spectators are provided according to the spectators, the temporary infrastructures layout, features of each venue and the organization route provided by BOCOG.In chapter six, the paper simulates the traffic around venues, evaluates the project and improves the project.Chapter seven is the summary. Summarizes the main research work of this dissertation and presents questions that need to be further researched on in the future.The main achievements of this paper are as follows:(1) In this paper, the peak days of former games and features of the special line layout are targeted. The calculation is more accurate with the consideration of both.(2) It simulates the regional traffic of the venues according to the forecast and the route, evaluates the organization plan and provides improvement measures to the transportation problems to solve the supply shortage, and so on.(3) It makes the layout of the bus terminal on special Olympic lines according to its features. The terminal square is defined with its actual functions, and calculated separately the Olympic bus parking lot and the passenger on-and-off area. It also provides the calculation method of the bus terminal squares which fits to the feature of bus terminal on the Olympic special lines. |
