The phase of concept vehicle design is very important in the vehicle structure design period. The bug in the phase of concept vehicle design is very difficult to fix. So, for confirming the best section parameters and the disposal for structure in vehicle body primary structure, in the phase of concept vehicle design, diversiform projects should be compared, the position parameters and the section parameters should be adjusted. In this aspect, many domestic scholars and overseas scholars have done many researches and explores for application. And they all consider that two pivotal problems affect the phase of concept vehicle design in CAE domain. Firstly, when a new vehicle being designed, the job for creating geometrical model is very troublesome, and the job for fixing it is not easy ether.Secondly, when some parameters in the vehicle body's any parts have been changed, the stiffness and the mode for the vehicle body can't be got. For this reason, try to test them many times by our experience is needed. So, the job in the phase of concept vehicle design will be very bother, the results will uncertainty ether.Our job have do contributes for these two problems.Firstly, we provide a vehicle body's template for designers. It can draw up the new vehicle body fleetly. Because the vehicle body's template is entire parametric, it will be very easy for modifying the template. The number of the parameters in the vehicle body's template is numerous, it supply designers platitudinous space to design.Secondly, we supply a method to solve the stiffness and the mode for the vehicle body when some parameters in the vehicle body's any parts have been changed. For this tool, designers will have a more clear way to design, and it will save much time for them, the results will more reliable.So we see the meaning for our job. And the job's fruit centralize in VCD-ICAE software system. VCD-ICAE software system is designed by our VCD(Vehicle Concept Design) team. We cooperate with UGS Company, and design it based on UG software's secondly exploitation flat roof. The inner codes and the exterior codes in UG software were used. And the tool of UG/Open API and UG/Open UIStyler is used too. We exploit the vehicle body's template for vehicle with three boxes and four doors. Then we exploit the vehicle body's template for vehicle with two boxes and four doors. We will supply more vehicle body's templates in the future.The VCD-ICAE software system is exploited based on the environment of UG software. It amalgamated many advanced techniques. The pivotal techniques are entire parametric technique, templates technique; knowledge guide technique and example manage technique.a) Entire parametric techniqueThe entire vehicle body adopts this entire parametric technique. Creating geometrical model, creating FEM model, adding restricts and loads, solving and optimization, all use this technique. Designers can only change some parameters to complete this job that will cost much time before.b) Templates techniqueWe supply a good vehicle body template for designers. So designers can do their job begin with a higher jumping-off point. It will save much time and reduce jobs for designers.c) Knowledge guide techniqueThe VCD-ICAE software system has a very friendly interface. It will give designers clearly clew. Designers will familiar this system soon. And all steps supply radical parameters, only the beginner can use it quickly.d) Example manage techniqueExample manage technique can save all parameters to excel that the designer have been used, so the parameters can be used in the future. Based on the job for exploiting the VCD-ICAE software system, this thesis's study purpose is: creating the entire parametric geometrical vehicle body model by the VCD-ICAE software system fleetly. And then creating the FEM vehicle body model, adding restricts and loads, solving and optimization, analyzing the bending stiffness and the torsion stiffness. After that, we solve the senses of all the beams and sheets, and analyze the infection that all the beams and the sheets for the bending stiffness and the torsion stiffness. Finally, a result excels and a chart will appear automatically.For these purpose, this thesis do these jobs below: 1) This thesis introduces the VCD-ICAE software system. And its pivotal techniques and operate flowing have been described too. The VCD-ICAE software system's pivotal techniques include entire parametric technique, templates technique; knowledge guide technique and example manage technique. These advanced techniques in the VCD-ICAE software system solve the problems in the phase of concept vehicle design.2) For this job is based on UG software, this thesis introduces the tool UG/Open API and UG/Open UIStyler。3) VCD-ICAE software system is exploited for designers. So it needs a report for user. This thesis introduces a result report based on XML language. And introduces the XML language.4) This thesis introduces the vehicle body template's functions, mostly introduces the vehicle body template with three boxes and four doors.5) This thesis introduces the theory of FEM. The method of calculating stiffness with FEM is: dispersing structure, cell analyzing, integer analyzing, solving. For the theory of FEM, and based on the CAE technique, and use the VCD-ICAE software system to creating vehicle body's FEM model, then adding restricts and loads to solve the bending stiffness and the torsion stiffness.6) This thesis introduces the welding points'creating method, and classifies the welding point. For more vehicle's welding points'position is not the same, we create the welding points averagely in the line, and the number of them can be adjusted by designers.7) This thesis analyzes the stiffness of the vehicle body. This analyze include bending stiffness and the torsion stiffness. After that, the results contrast with the detailed vehicle body model to validate the results. This thesis'innovation is: from the creating geometrical vehicle body to the solving, the speed is very fast, and the parameters can be modified in the whole process. And when the parameters were modified, the result of the vehicle body's stiffness will be gained soon.8) This thesis got the senses of all the beams and sheets, analyzed the infection that all the beams and the sheets for the bending stiffness and the torsion stiffness. Based on that results, we pick-up some parameters and do optimize for the stiffness. Finally, we got the result of that the stiffness is increased but the mass is kept in a range. The emphases of this paper is: Analyzing the stiffness by VCD-ICAE software system.
