The roof compound isolation is a newly proposed isolation system. The present research work is seldom and is lack of systematic and theoretical results. In this paper a grid structure which is installed with disk spring-laminated rudder composite bearing is studied by SAP2000, which is a numerical analysis program. The purpose is to analyze the effect of the roof compound isolation. The main work is:(1)The research and application status of the vibration control technology in the long-span space structures are introduced, especially the work principles of isolation and detailing methods of long-span space grid structures. The leading problems of compound isolation for roof structure have been pointed out.(2)According to the essential characteristics of laminated rubber bearings and disk springs, a new type of composite isolation bearing is designed, namely disk spring-laminated rudder composite bearing. This bearing can not only reduce the earthquake in the horizontal direction, but reduce the earthquake in the vertical direction.(3)In order to test the damping properties of disk spring-laminated rudder composite bearings, this paper has derived dynamic equations of grid structures with three different bearings which include non-seismic isolation bearings, laminated rubber bearing, and disk spring-laminated rudder composite bearing. Seismic response characteristics of grid structures have been emphatically researched in these three different conditions; the effectiveness of both horizontal and vertical isolation for composite bearings has been verified, and the corresponding mechanism and law of isolation has also been investigated. The research results have shown that: both disk spring-laminated rudder composite bearings and rudder composite bearings can effectively reduce the horizontal earthquake; but compared to rudder composite bearings, disk spring-laminated rudder composite bearings can also effectively reduce the vertical earthquake of structures, which has provided the basis for the composite isolation of long-span spatial structures and has provided reference for the theory and design methods of the roof isolated structures.
