This paper mainly does the research with a base-isolated structure. The bearing of the structure is consists of Laminated Rubber Bearings(LRB).In the first, the finite element models are rendered to analysis the mechanical performance of the isolation structure. The results of earthquake time history analysis indicate that base isolation structure can effectively reduce the earthquake response of buildings. The LRB isolation is not only safe and liable, but also easy to analysis. The deformation of the structure mainly focused on the isolation layer and the superstructure shift as a whole. The results of earthquake time history analysis between the base-isolated structure and base-fixed structure are compared. The results indicate that the base shear, the interlayer shear, the interlayer displacement of the isolation system is far lower than the results of the base-fixed system under the same condition of the superstructure.According to the different response under different earthquake waves, the paper discussed the long-period character of the isolation structure. The results of analysis indicates that the isolation structure has better effect for the earthquake wave which was dominated of short-period wave. The method which is common used of designing the isolation structure is based on the concept of "level-conversion intensity". The more precise results must be obtained from the time history analysis. The results of the two methods are compared which show that the method of "level-conversion intensity" is reasonable. In addition, some advice and measurements are put forward. Finally, the paper discussed the optimization of designing, economical function and some others of LRB isolation system.
